(KPL) On January 7, 2026,  Delegates attending the XII National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party visited the Saysettha Comprehensive Development Zone in Vientiane Capital as part of activities linked to the Congress.

The delegation was warmly received by Phouvong Vongkhamsao, Deputy Mayor of Vientiane Capital, and Kainakhon Thammavone, Deputy Head of the Vientiane Investment Promotion and Management Office, together with the management board and staff of the development zone.

Promoting Industrial and Economic Development

During the reception, Phouvong Vongkhamsao expressed his honor at welcoming the Congress delegates, noting that the visit serves as a strong source of encouragement for local authorities, management, and workers. He emphasized that the visit reflects the close attention and clear direction of the Party Central Committee and the Government toward promoting industrialization and sustainable economic development in Vientiane Capital and nationwide.

Role of the Saysettha Development Zone

Established under the policies of the Party and State, the Saysettha Comprehensive Development Zone plays a key role in:

Attracting domestic and foreign investment

Creating employment opportunities for the local workforce

Enhancing industrial production capacity to support economic modernization

Under the leadership of the Party and Government, the zone has made steady progress in infrastructure development, including roads, electricity, water supply, and public utilities, creating favorable conditions for investment, production, and improved living standards for workers and residents.

The delegation received a detailed briefing from the Vientiane Investment Promotion and Management Office before touring several enterprises operating within the zone.

Phouvong Vongkhamsao reaffirmed that the visit provides valuable guidance for future development and pledged to continue advancing the Saysettha Comprehensive Development Zone as a leading center for investment and production, in line with the expectations of the Party, the Government, and the multi-ethnic Lao people.
