Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Anouphap Vongnorkeo, signed the book of condolence on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother (Phra Borommaratchachonnani Phanpi Luang), at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Lao PDR on October 28, 2025.
The condolence message read: On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and in my personal capacity, I would like to express my deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Her Majesty’s passing is a tremendous and irreplaceable loss for the Thai people and also marks the loss of a beloved and respected friend of the Lao people. Her Majesty was deeply devoted to fostering the close and friendly relations between Laos and Thailand, and to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two neighboring nations over the years.
I wish to extend my profound condolences and sympathy to the Royal Family, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Thai people during this time of mourning.
May the soul of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, rest in eternal peace.
The signing ceremony reflected the deep respect and close friendship between the Lao PDR and the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as the Lao Government’s solidarity and sympathy with the Thai Royal Family and the people of Thailand during this period of national mourning.
