(KPL) On Dec 1, senior leaders of Vietnam, including Party Secretary General To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, sent a congratulatory message to Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and President of the National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Lao PDR.

“Dear Comrades,

On the occasion of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, marking the 49th anniversary (Dec 2, 1975–2024), on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the government, the National Assembly, and the people of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, we would like to extend our best wishes and warm congratulations to you and, through you, to the entire Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the government, the National Assembly of the Lao PDR, and the multi-ethnic people of Laos.

We highly value the remarkable and historically significant achievements that the Party, government, and multi-ethnic Lao people have accomplished in their mission to safeguard and develop the nation over the past 49 years. Under the clear-sighted leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, with a deep sense of patriotism and courageous revolutionary spirit, the Lao people of all ethnicities have overcome hardships and numerous challenges, ultimately achieving glorious victories.

The remarkable achievements in protecting and building the nation have significantly improved the material and spiritual well-being of the Lao people, elevating the status and role of the Lao PDR in regional and international arenas.

Notably, we extend our congratulations to the Lao PDR for its successful hosting of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, the 45th AIPA General Assembly in 2024, and for effectively fulfilling its role as ASEAN Chair in 2024. These accomplishments represent a shared pride for the two Parties, two States, two National Assemblies, and the peoples of our two nations.

We express our strong and comprehensive support for the renovation policy of the Lao PDR, and we firmly believe that under the clear-sighted leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, headed by Secretary General Thongloun Sisoulith, the Lao PDR and its people will continue to build on their rich historical legacy and expand the achievements made in recent years.

By implementing the resolutions of the 11th Party Congress and the Ninth Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021–2025), the Lao PDR is expected to achieve even greater successes in its renovation process. The goal is to build a peaceful, independent, democratic, united, and prosperous Lao nation, in line with the objectives of socialism.

We are deeply delighted and immensely proud to witness that, alongside the significant achievements made by the two Parties, the two States, and the peoples of our two nations in recent years, the profound bonds of friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos—founded by Great President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong—have continued to be nurtured and strengthened by the leaders and peoples of our two countries. These bonds have been consistently advanced under the leadership and unwavering commitment of both nations' leaders and people, expanding and deepening in breadth and effectiveness across all areas. This cooperation actively contributes to the missions of renovation and development in both countries.

On this important occasion, on behalf of the Party, Government, National Assembly, and people of Vietnam, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the fraternal Party, Government, and people of Laos for your sincere, valuable, and effective support during both the national liberation struggle and the current period of national construction and development.

We pledge to make our utmost efforts, in collaboration with the Party, Government, National Assembly, and people of Laos, to preserve, strengthen, and further enhance the relations and special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam. This partnership will continue to evolve for the mutual benefit of our two nations and contribute to peace, stability, and development cooperation in the region and the world.”

On the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son also sent a congratulatory message to Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongsavanh Phomvihane to express congratulations on the 49th anniversary of the Lao PDR.
