The University of Health Sciences (UHS) officially launched its Phonsavanh Classroom also referred to as the Special Classroom during a ceremony held on August 5. The event brought together key figures including Mr. Bounphang Phoummasith, President of the UHS Council, Mr. Phonemek Daraloy, President of the Professional Oversight Council, and representatives from various departments of the Ministry of Health.

The National University of Laos (NUOL) plans to admit 5,670 new students to its undergraduate programs for the 2025–2026 academic year. Additionally, over 8,000 seats are available through separate entrance exams for international programs, continuing education, and multiple-choice programs conducted on weekends and evenings.

The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) launched a scriptwriting workshop this week to develop a new communication campaign to promote the value of education and support student retention. Initiated at the request of the Minister of Education and Sports, the campaign is being developed with support from the Australian Government through the Basic Education Quality and Access in the Lao PDR (BEQUAL) program.
