(KPL) Since the official launch of the Laos-China Railway in late 2021, import and export of goods between Vientiane and the Laos-China border checkpoint has obviously become faster, easier and cost effective.

Manager of Yunnan Tongyi International Freight Forwarding Tu Jingchun
Manager of Yunnan Tongyi International Freight Forwarding Tu Jingchun told the media on May 23 that in the past it took up to four to five days to transport goods from Vientiane to the Laos-China border by road, but now the Laos-China Railway cuts the transport time between the two destinations to merely 24 hours.
The Laos-China Railway will soon be connected to recently launched Thanaleng Dry Port in Vientiane which plays a key role in the regional transport system. Goods transported to and from Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia will be inspected or unloaded at this dry port according to relevant regulations.
The China-Laos Railway is a docking project between the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Laos' strategy to convert itself from a landlocked country to a land-linked hub.
