(KPL)Team Europe (the governments of Luxembourg and Switzerland) have provided funding to the Technical College of Vientiane Province to establish Academy Training Hotel & Restaurant as a theory-practice learning centre for local students.
“Academy aims to equip local students with tourism and hospitality skills to ensure they meet market demands, both in the country and overseas,” said Mr Thonglor Vilaythong, Director General, Technical College of Vientiane Province.

“All students are enrolled for tourism and hospitality diploma programme. Here they can learn in class, do internship or take a part time job. They can choose to learn about food and beverage services, reception or housekeeping,” said Mr Thonglor Vilaythong.

Academy Training Hotel & Restaurant is staffed mainly by students and supervised by their teachers. It offers guests with an opportunity to experience services from enthusiastic students.

Miss Olieng Xayakhot, a hotel management graduate of Technical College of Vientiane Province said that this hotel is a very useful place for her to learn as it allows her to learn theories in class and put what she has learned into real-life practice.
