(KPL) Vice President of the National Assembly Chaleun Yiapaoher received a courtesy call from US Ambassador to the Lao PDR Mr Peter M. Haymond on the occasion of Mr Chaleun’s appointment to the post.
The host noted that the visit by Ambassador Haymond constituted a significant contribution to enhancing the relations and cooperation based on the comprehensive partnership between Laos and the United States. 
He expressed his confidence that the US ambassador will contribute to strengthening the relations between the two countries, especially between their national legislative bodies. 

The NA Vice President also expressed sincere sympathy over the fact that the US people have been severely affected by the Covid-19 and his confidence that the United States will be able to overcome the impact of the pandemic.
In reply, Ambassador Haymond assured the host that he will continue to strengthen the relations and cooperation based on the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. 
Both sides also exchanged points of view on preventive and containment efforts against Covid-19 and other issues of common interest.
