(KPL) The construction of a waste sorting factory at the KM 32 landfill has been achieved by 80%, developer has said.
“We expect to be able to have machines installed in February, 2021. Then we will operate the machines beginning sorting rubbish as different types of rubbish will be sent to different factories,” said Director of the Vientiane Waste Management Company (VWM) Khamla Nakkhavong.
VWM is expected to build four factories including a waste sorting factory with a daily capacity of 400 tonnes, a plastic grinding factory, a waste-to-energy plant and an organic fertilizer factory.
Mr. Khamla said that the construction of the electric power plant will begin once an electricity purchase agreement is signed with the Electricite du Laos (EDL). The construction is expected to last 18 months.
