
(KPL) A secondary school was constructed in Vientiane Province under Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The handover ceremony was held on Oct 15, 2020 with the attendance of Mr Bounmi Inthavhan, Vice Governor of Phonhong District, Vientiane Province and Mr Hirose Hisaya, Second secretary of Embassy of Japan in Lao PDR.The project amounting to US$ 92,752 aims at the expansion and reconstruction of educational facilities at the Senssart Secondary School at Phonhong District.

The facilities were in poor condition with the overcrowded classrooms.
The project is to improve the educational environment by constructing fully furbished classrooms. “It is our great pleasure to witness the completion of the project in this year of commemorating 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Lao PDR,” said Mr Hirose at the ceremony.“Japan will continue to support the efforts of Lao Government in enhancing the education sector of remote areas,” said Mr Hirose.
