(KPL) Tourism Malaysia has expected to welcome a total of over 38,000 Lao visitors, according to Ms Sordaly Chanthavong, Marketing Manager, Tourism Malaysian to the Lao PDR.
The Tourism Malaysia will continue to make efforts to make travel agents in Laos realize tourism potentials and promotional opportunities in Malaysia’s tourism industry, said Ms Sordaly Chanthavong.

Between January and September 2019, Malaysia attracted 20,959 visitors from Laos, reflecting an increase of 13.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2018.

International tourist arrivals recorded in the first nine months of 2019 stood at 20,109,203, an increase of 3.7 per cent, compared to 19,386,115 visitors during the same period of 2018.

Tourist receipts for the same period in 2019 reached RM66.14 billion compared to RM61.85 billion for the same period in 2018, indicating an increase of 6.9 per cent, according to the Tourism Malaysia.

On July 22, 2019, the Visit Malaysia 2020 Campaign logo was launched to promote tourism industry in the country.
Kuala Lumpur was ranked 9th in the list of most-visited cities in 2017, and this is according to the Top 100 City Destinations 2018 report.
Malaysia hopes to welcome a total of 30 million tourist arrivals, and RM100 billion in tourist receipts for Visit Malaysia 2020.
