(KPL) Amendment to the Law on Civil Aviationwas presented at the ongoing 5th Ordinary Session of the National Assembly on Jun 26. The amendment is expected to be approved in coming days.
Civil aviation refers to activities relating to the operation of aircraft for the purpose of transporting passengers, baggage, cargo and mail, conducting surveys, scientific research, and activities in the areas of agriculture and forestry, education, culture, health, sports, search and rescue and other civil activities, according to the current Law on Aviation.
The amendment is needed to make sure the current civil aviation requirements are met and Laos is integrated into the regional aviation industry, according to Minister of Public Works and Transport Bounchane Sinthavong.
The amendment is also to ensure that the law will be used as a reference for human resource development in the aviation sector, added the minister.
