
(KPL) Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith opened yesterday Made in Laos Exhibition, the fifth of its kind, has brought more than 180 booths of a wide range of products made by entrepreneurs across the country.
“The main objective of the Made in Laos 2018 Exhibition is to bring together innovative, unique and quality products made or assembled in Laos by local businesses or foreign investors using locally sourced materials or imported materials so that they can be showcased to possible buyers or sold,” said Vice President, Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms Chanthachone Vongxay.
Held at Lao ITECC in Vientiane, the exhibition, scheduled for Mar 14-18, is also attended by producers from Thailand.
This year exhibition also aims to provide local makers and businesses with opportunity to share and exchange lessons and experiences they can use to improve their products and services.
The event is also for provinces to show and market their best and unique products.
“We hope that this exhibition will better promote the products Lao people are proud of. It is among activities planned by the business sector to promote Visit Laos Year 2018 and attract more visitors as well as more investors to Laos,” said Ms Chanthachone.
Products for sales and exhibited at Made in Laos 2018 include a variety of products ranging from handicrafts, organic products, wood furniture to jewellery.
