
(KPL) Lao Government has set an ambitious plan to build foundation for digital society 2030, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Mr Thansamay Kommasith has said.
Today, ICT is growing as the application of ICT is apparently noticeable in all services and the ratio of mobile phone users, among target population, in the country represents 100 percent with the number of ICT entrepreneurs reaching 5,000, Mr Thansamay told the grand opening of the 2nd Lao ICT Expo 2018 at Lao ITECC, Vientiane, on Jan 24.
Lao ICT Expo 2018, the most extensive ICT exhibition, a conference and summit has contributed to the rapid growth and development of local ICT industry and regional ICT market, said Minister Thansamay.
The Lao ICT Expo 2018 brought up the idea "Towards Digital Transformation" encouraging technology service vendors, private and public decision makers, integrators, and users of ICT technology for business or public good as well as disruptive startups with unique solutions to create important networks and build valuable partnerships.
The Lao ICT Expo 2018 brings the latest technology innovations to benefit organizations operating or planning to engage in the expanding Lao market.
The Expo serves as a catalyst for collaboration and corporation between foreign and local technology companies and a multitude of partners in the ICT ecosystem.
Lao ICT Expo 2018 draws various ICT products from local, foreign and regional world-class ICT players, including, telecommunication vendors, computer hardware, and software, safety system technology, IT programme, SMEs and Startup, trade, production, agriculture and education.
Alongside the exhibition, there are many activities including, E-sport, the Lao ICT Award 2017 and ASEAN ICT Award 2017 and the APT Young Professionals and Student Programme.
The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Post & Telecommunications, Lao ICT Commerce Association and Department of Trade Promotion.
