(KPL) The Lao Economic Daily Newspaper has announced that it will print 7,000 copies daily to give readers free-of-charge issues, aiming to promote .
The announcement was made in Vientiane Capital in March 20 in the presence of the Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Economic Daily Newspaper, Mr Khamkhanh Naphavong.
The Lao Economic Daily Newspaper was established in 1994 as a monthly newspaper, an important voice of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to promote agricultural production for the market and develop national trade and economy, Mr Khamkhanh recalled.
“As we have known that social media and newspapers play an important role in the Lao media circle and daily lives of the society. The use of social media in the society is a track to increase so we have decided to offer a free-of-charge reading to our subscribers,” he said.
The Lao Economic Daily Newspaper is the first newspaper in Laos to give readers free-of-charge issues, beginning on the day the announcement was made.
In 2011, the Lao Economic Daily Newspaper was taken over by the KOLAO Group, a leading car dealer from the Republic of Korea.
Presently, local daily newspapers in Lao edition have still survived, including Pathet Lao, Vientiane Mai, Passaxon, Social Economic, and the Army and Security newspapers.
