(KPL) While meeting with local authorities, Ms Eriko Tamura, Director of the Global Environment Department of JICA, confirmed that JICA is committed to developing waterworks in Luang Prabang Province.
Ms Eriko and her delegation met with Vice Governor of Luang Prabang Province Bouakhong Nammavong and Governor of Luang Prabang district Soukan Bounyong to discuss the development of waterworks facilities in the municipal area of the province.
The Japanese International Cooperation Agency - JICA - has been conducting the final stage of a waterworks survey in Luang Prabang district since August 2012.
JICA has been conducting the survey in order to determine with relevant local authorities solutions to waterworks problems in Luang Prabang.
Besides to Luang Prabang, JICA is helping to strengthen the capacity of the water supply state enterprises in Vientiane Capital and Khammuan.
Over recent years, Luang Prabang provincial management and JICA have focused their discussions on the development of basic infrastructure including roads and waterworks facilities in municipal areas.
