(KPL) Ford Motor Company and Lao Ford City have donated US$25,000 to support the building of a safe water system for three target villages of Phoukhoun district, Luang Prabang Province.
The project is under Ford's Conservation and Environmental Grants Programme to provide safe water sources for locals and help reduce daily challenges that residents face in obtaining water.
The handover ceremony was held in Vientiane Capital on Feb 16 between the General Manager of Lao Ford City, Mr Dillip Jesuthsan and the National Director of World Vision, Mr Christopher P. Herink.
The company has continued Ford Conservation and Environmental Grant Programme in Laos and this year Ford has selected World Vision Laos as the 2017 Ford Conservation and Environmental Grant recipient and awarded it the US$25,000 grant.
World Vision Laos will use the funds to supply clean water to families and students for household and school use. The project will focus on three target villages in Phoukhoun district, Luang Prabang Province.
