Pinggu District Charts Course to Become Global Hub for Agricultural Innovation

Speaking to international media, Gao Hongbin, Deputy Chief of Pinggu District, said the district aims to transform traditional agriculture through technological innovation while strengthening China's role in setting international technical standards.
At the heart of the strategy is the Pinggu Agricultural Science and Technology Park, which integrates seed breeding, food technology, and agricultural research. Pinggu has also hosted the World Agriculture Science and Technology Innovation Congress for three consecutive years, reinforcing its goal of becoming one of the world's leading agricultural innovation centers.

Gao said the district is developing an internationally recognized testing and certification system to improve product quality, facilitate global market access, and enhance China's participation in international standard-setting.
In parallel, Pinggu is expanding its smart logistics and cold-chain infrastructure to support agricultural production and trade. Modern warehousing and logistics facilities now serve about 80 enterprises, helping improve supply chain efficiency and reduce distribution costs.
According to Gao, Pinggu's recent achievements in technological innovation and economic development have attracted recognition from eight countries, reflecting growing international interest in the district's development model.
He emphasized that integrating innovation, logistics, and international cooperation will strengthen the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in global markets.
As development continues at industrial zones including Lingmu Industrial Park and Heng'an Pinggu Science Park, Pinggu is pursuing integrated industrial development to accelerate agricultural modernization and contribute to China's broader economic transformation.
