Prime Minister Receives Thai Energy Minister
Prime Minister Sonexay welcomed the delegation and said the visit would further deepen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Laos and Thailand. He also expressed appreciation to the Thai Government and its relevant agencies for their continued support and cooperation in addressing energy-related issues.
The Prime Minister encouraged the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Thailand's Ministry of Energy to maintain close consultation and coordination in developing long-term strategies to strengthen energy security and promote sustainable energy development. He also highlighted Laos' policy of expanding the use of electric vehicles to reduce fuel imports and support environmentally sustainable development. The Prime Minister asked the visiting minister to convey his warm regards to the Prime Minister of Thailand.
For his part, Minister Eknat thanked the Lao Government for its warm hospitality and reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Laos in the energy sector.
He said the Thai Ministry of Energy would continue working closely with the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce to exchange experience, address common challenges, and implement the guidance of both governments, particularly in maintaining energy stability and promoting sustainable trade and investment cooperation for the long term.
