Laos to Host 17th World Bodybuilding Championships

KPL - Asean 2024 The Lao People's Democratic Republic will host the 17th World Bodybuilding Championships, marking a major milestone in the country’s growing role in international sports.

The championship, organized by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation, is scheduled to take place from December 3 to 9, 2026, at the Don Chan Palace Hotel in the capital.
Officials from the WBPF recently visited Laos to assess preparations for the event. Paul Chua, President of the federation, and Christina Kam conducted site inspections and reviewed facilities, logistics, and organizational plans to ensure they meet international standards.
Authorities said the championship is expected to attract athletes, officials, and spectators from around the world. The event will provide an opportunity to showcase Laos’ hospitality, infrastructure, and readiness to host major international competitions.
Officials added that hosting the championship is expected to boost tourism, raise the country’s international profile, and support the development of bodybuilding and fitness sports in Laos.
