The province’s growing appeal as an international tourism destination has fueled the development of its tourism industry. Ms. Yang Kun, Deputy General Manager of Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group Co., Ltd., said that Guizhou now offers direct flights to five major Southeast Asian hub cities: Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Singapore. These flights operate on a combination of regular and charter services, with three flights per week to each city.
Ms. Yang also mentioned the launch of a website (www.guizhou.cn) aimed at strengthening tourism with other countries, which now is available in four languages: Chinese, English, Korean, and Thai. The website integrates cultural and tourism resource displays, travel guides, product booking, and cross-border payment functions, creating a seamless travel experience.

In the first quarter of 2025, Guizhou received 391 inbound tour groups, totaling 65,800 visitors, of which Southeast Asian tour groups accounted for 61 per cent, making the region the most important source of overseas tourists, Ms. Yang added.
During an ASEAN media tour in Guizhou from 16 to 21 April, Mr Lu Yongzheng, Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, stated that Guizhou will continue to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN countries to promote its tourism and culture, as well as expand markets, in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Moreover, Guizhou plans to establish a media exchange programme between local and ASEAN media, as well as international media outlets. The programme aims to encourage the joint creation of social media content by journalists from both sides, according to local authorities.
