10th National Assembly to Hold Second Ordinary Session from October 5–21

(KPL) At a press briefing on October 1, Mr. Bounchan Sivongphanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the NA Standing Committee and Head of the NA Secretariat, outlined the main agenda for the 13-day session.
The NA will consider and approve the election and appointment of state personnel, as well as government reports on the implementation of the 2026 National Socio-Economic Development Plan, State Budget Plan and Monetary Plan, together with targets for 2027.
It will also consider reports from the State Audit Organization on implementation of its 2026 work plan, its 2027 work plan and audit results related to the 2025 final State Budget implementation.
The session will review 2026 performance reports and 2027 work directions from the National Assembly, State Inspection Authority, Supreme People’s Prosecutor-General and Supreme People’s Court.
The NA is also scheduled to consider and vote on eight draft laws, including one new law and seven amended laws.
The new legislation is the Draft Law on Deposit Protection, while the seven amendments cover the laws on the Government; Lao People’s Army Officers; Lao People’s Public Security Forces; Civil Aviation; Road Traffic; Cybercrime Prevention and Countermeasures; and Alcoholic Beverage Control.
To facilitate public participation, the NA Secretariat will operate a hotline team throughout the session to receive comments, suggestions and petitions from citizens during government working hours.
