Khammouane and Nakhon Phanom Chambers of Industry and Commerce Strengthen Cross-Border Cooperation

(KPL) The Chambers of Industry and Commerce of Khammouane Province, Lao PDR, and Nakhon Phanom Province, Thailand, convened a bilateral meeting on July 1, 2025, in Khammouane to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism.
The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Oudomphong Keovisay Sano, Vice President of the Khammouane Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and Mr. Sotithanin Arunthanakhemphat, Vice President of the Nakhon Phanom Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Delegations from both provinces participated in the discussions.
Key topics included strategic collaboration in trade, transportation, tourism, and other economic sectors, with a shared commitment to fostering stronger business environments across both sides of the Mekong River. The discussion also revisited agreements made during a previous consultative meeting held on March 6, 2024, in Khammouane.
The objective of the meeting was to promote cross-border trade and investment, enhance connectivity, and create favorable conditions for economic activities between the two provinces. Both chambers reaffirmed their intent to continue building robust ties and long-term cooperation, with a focus on supporting industry, handicrafts, agriculture, finance, and services in the border region.
The exchange reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen subregional economic partnerships between Laos and Thailand, particularly through provincial-level collaboration and private sector engagement.
