President Thongloun Welcomes Foreign Ambassadors, Dispatches Lao Diplomats Abroad

(KPL) In a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, President Thongloun Sisoulith received the credentials of four newly appointed foreign ambassadors to Laos and presented credentials to two Lao ambassadors assigned overseas underscoring the country’s continued commitment to international cooperation and diplomacy.
Newly Accredited Foreign Ambassadors to Laos:
Ms. Oya Yazar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey (based in Vientiane)
Ms. Elizabeth Tan Te, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines (based in Vientiane)
Mr. Martin Makururu, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe (based in Jakarta)
Mr. Antonios Papakostas, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic (Greece, based in Hanoi)
President Thongloun welcomed the ambassadors and expressed confidence in their contributions to enhancing relations in trade, investment, tourism, and cultural exchange. He encouraged them to support the implementation of bilateral agreements and explore Laos beyond the capital to better understand development opportunities.
In return, the ambassadors conveyed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation for mutual benefit.

Mr. Kalamongkhon Souphanouvong, Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative to the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie
President Thongloun congratulated the diplomats and urged them to actively promote Laos’ interests abroad, particularly in attracting investment, strengthening partnerships, and supporting Laos’ development and graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status.
This diplomatic event reflects Laos’ dedication to strengthening global ties and building strategic partnerships to support national growth.
