KPL - Asean 2024 Korean food and agricultural products gained greater exposure in the Lao PDR as the Laos K-Agri Food Trade Mission 2026, held from October 22 to 24, brought Korean suppliers together with Lao importers, distributors and consumers.

Through business consultations, product showcases and consumer engagement, the three-day initiative explored new trade opportunities and potential distribution partnerships in the Lao market.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) of the Republic of Korea and KOTRA, the programme combined business-to-business (B2B) meetings at Holiday Inn Vientiane with public promotional activities at Korea Lifestyle Festival 2026 at Parkson Mall.
Approximately 115 products from 35 Korean agri-food companies were presented, allowing local businesses and consumers to discover a diverse selection of Korean products.
On Oct 22, one-on-one business consultations at Holiday Inn Vientiane connected Korean suppliers with Lao importers, distributors and prospective business partners.
The session involved 13 Lao companies and 20 business meetings, focusing on import opportunities, product distribution and potential long-term cooperation.
The programme continued on Oct 23-24 at Parkson Mall, where the K-Product Showcase Zone featured 115 products from 35 participating Korean companies. Product displays, information sessions and free sampling provided opportunities for visitors to explore new brands, experience their quality, and share feedback on local tastes and preferences.

A dedicated K-Agri Food Zone featured AF Solution Co., Ltd., SGS Factory Corp., Park Haeyoung Rural Jandae Agricultural Co., Ltd., and six Lao importers.
The zone introduced a variety of products, including instant cup noodles, tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes), ginseng-based products, dietary supplements, and beverages. Visitors could sample and purchase selected items, while participating businesses assessed consumer interest and explored potential retail and distribution opportunities.
Adding to the festival atmosphere, a separate K-Food Zone featuring 29 food booths offered Korean and Lao cuisine, attracting visitors eager to experience different flavours. The two-day programme also featured company introduction videos, a Lao-Korean fusion cooking show, K-pop dance competitions, and cultural performances, creating an engaging setting to promote Korean products and strengthen cultural exchange.
The opening ceremony welcomed Lao and Korean government officials, business representatives and distinguished guests, reflecting the growing cooperation between the two countries in trade and consumer markets.

Mr. Park Jungwe, Director General of KOTRA Vientiane, thanked participating Korean companies, Lao importers, distributors, and visitors for their support.
He highlighted the value of connecting suppliers directly with both business partners and end consumers. “Combining business consultations with consumer engagement gives Korean companies valuable insights into local demand, helps identify suitable distribution partners and supports more effective market-entry strategies,” Mr. Park said.
The mission provided a platform for Korean suppliers to assess market potential while enabling Lao businesses to discover new products and explore import opportunities. It also demonstrated how direct consumer feedback and business networking can complement each other in developing sustainable partnerships.
Under the K-Food Overseas Market Entry Package for Laos 2026, KOTRA Vientiane will continue facilitating business connections, supporting market-entry activities and following up on potential trade opportunities to expand the presence of Korean agri-food products in Laos.
