(KPL) The vibrant 23rd Kapok Flower Festival (Boun Dok Ngiew Ban) is set to take place from January 30–31, 2026, in Tonpheung District, Bokeo Province, promising a lively celebration that blends culture, commerce, and contemporary arts along the banks of the Mekong River.

According to a news source from Bokeo Province, this year’s festival will be preceded by a cultural market and local product exhibition starting on January 17, 2026, at Don Sao, and continuing through the end of the month. These activities aim to offer visitors an immersive experience of Lao lifestyles and traditions, with a special focus on the unique cultural identity of Bokeo Province.

The festival is jointly organized by Bokeo Province, the Administration Committee of the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, and Dok Ngiew Kam Company Limited, located in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone, Tonpheung District.

A Celebration of Culture, Beauty, and Peace

The main celebrations on January 30 and 31 will feature a series of highlight events. One of the most anticipated activities is the “Miss Kapok Flower” contest, to be held on the Don Sao stage. The contest will showcase the elegance, confidence, and modern charm of Lao women, reflecting both traditional beauty and contemporary style.

Adding an international artistic dimension, the Dok Ngiew Kam Star Hotel will host an art exhibition entitled “Golden Triangle of Peace.” The exhibition will present artworks that capture historical transformation through creative expression, conveying messages of development, harmony, and peace in the region.

The festival program will also include Lao cultural and artistic performances, as well as a special comedy show titled “Lao–China: Sweet Family-like Affection,” highlighting cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries.

The organizing committee has confirmed that preparations are complete and all arrangements are in place. Tourists, investors, and visitors from both Laos and abroad are warmly invited to gather in Tonpheung District to enjoy the festive atmosphere along the Mekong River.
