CIECC Chief Receives Chinese Ambassador

(KPL) Khamphan Pheuyavong, Head of the Commission for Information and Education of the Party Central Committee, welcomed Fang Hong, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Lao PDR, during a courtesy visit in Vientiane on April 22.
Mr. Khamphan, a member of the Party Central Committee’s Politburo, received the ambassador and her delegation alongside senior officials from the commission.
The visit was held to congratulate Mr. Khamphan on his recent appointment, while also underscoring a milestone year as Laos and China mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Mr. Khamphan expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s visit and reaffirmed the long-standing cooperation between the CIECC and its Chinese counterparts.
Both sides highlighted recent cultural exchanges, including a Lao-China film screening event held in Vientiane to commemorate the anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The commission also briefed the ambassador on upcoming activities scheduled for April 24 as part of the celebrations.
Expanding Cooperation
Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in media and academic fields, including plans to promote bilateral milestones through various communication channels and to organize joint seminars on key topics.
Mr. Khamphan thanked the Chinese side for its continued support and reiterated the commission’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation.

Ambassador Fang Hong expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed China’s readiness to deepen cooperation across all sectors, aiming to further strengthen the longstanding relationship between the two countries
