Attapeu and Da Nang Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

KPL - Asean 2024 Attapeu Province of Lao PDR and Da Nang have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The signing ceremony was held on March 31, 2026, at the Attapeu Provincial Administration Office.

The signing ceremony was held on March 31, 2026, at the Attapeu Provincial Administration Office.

The agreement was signed by Soulivong Aphaivong, Vice Chairman of the Attapeu Provincial Administration, and Phan Thai Binh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee.

The ceremony was witnessed by Bountheung Douangsavanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Party Secretary of Attapeu, and Le Ngoc Quang, Member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Party Secretary of Da Nang, along with senior officials from both sides.

Under the agreement, Da Nang will prioritize support for Attapeu’s socio-economic development from 2026 to 2030.

Cooperation will focus on boosting investment, tourism, transport, and energy, including renewable energy. Both sides will also work together on irrigation, agriculture, and forestry development.

The agreement promotes labor exchange, employment, and digital transformation, while encouraging Vietnamese investors, enterprises, and tourists to engage with Attapeu.

Both sides also agreed to promote local products through trade fairs and exhibitions.

Attapeu pledged to facilitate and support businesses and citizens from Da Nang operating or residing in the province.

Education and human resource development form a key part of the agreement. Da Nang has committed to providing full scholarships for Attapeu officials and students to study at universities and colleges in the city, based on annual budget allocations and training plans.

In addition, the Lao Front for National Construction in Attapeu and the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Da Nang signed a separate cooperation agreement to strengthen people-to-people ties.

During the ceremony, Le Ngoc Quang extended New Year wishes to the leadership and people of Attapeu on the occasion of Boun Pi Mai.

He highlighted the strong and growing relationship between the two sides in trade and cultural exchange.

In response, Bountheung Douangsavanh expressed appreciation to the Da Nang delegation and reaffirmed commitment to further strengthening friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

To mark the occasion, Da Nang presented financial support of 500 million Vietnamese dong to Attapeu Province to assist local development
