A new international air link has been launched between Laos and China, offering direct connections between Vientiane and the southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu.

Sichuan Airlines began operating the new route on 22 March 2026, with flights running four times a week.

The service connects Chengdu and Vientiane, with a flight time of approximately two hours and 40 minutes. Departures are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The new route is expected to strengthen tourism and business links between Laos and China, providing more convenient travel options for passengers in both countries.

Direct flights are also seen as a key step in enhancing regional connectivity and supporting broader economic cooperation.

KPL
