Russia plans to build a lunar power plant by 2036

(KPL/Prensa Latina) The Russian Space Agency, Roscosmos, has signed a contract to conduct works until 2036 aimed at building a lunar power plant, TVBrics informe
The report specifies that the lunar power plant will be necessary for the long-term supply of energy to users of the Russian lunar program, such as lunar rovers and the observatory, as well as the infrastructure facilities of the future international lunar scientific station, including projects of foreign partners.
The project also includes the development of spacecraft and the deployment of infrastructure on the Moon.
During its execution, the spacecraft will be developed, flight tests will be conducted, experimental ground tests will be carried out, and infrastructure will be deployed on the Moon.
It stressed that the project will represent an important step towards the creation of a permanently operating lunar scientific station and the transition from one-off missions to a long-term lunar research program.
