(KPL) An official handover ceremony for the leadership of Luang Prabang Province was held on December 30, 2025, at the Luang Prabang Provincial Administration Office.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Khamphan Phommathat, Member of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.

During the event, Mr. Bounleua Sinxayvoravong was officially appointed as Chairman of the Luang Prabang Provincial Administration Committee, in accordance with resolutions of the Party Central Committee and presidential decrees.

At the same time, Mr. Khamkhan Chanthavisouk, former Governor of Luang Prabang Province, officially retired to receive his pension. Mr. Soukan Bounyong, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, was also approved for retirement and pension.

In his address, Mr. Khamphan Phommathat commended the achievements of the Luang Prabang Party Committee and provided key directives for the new leadership. He emphasized the importance of strengthening unity and solidarity within the Party, continuing political and ideological education among Party members, civil servants, and the public, and focusing on addressing economic challenges to improve people’s livelihoods.

He also called on the provincial leadership to uphold the “Five Principles and Three Directions” of Party building to ensure strong, transparent, and stable governance.

The ceremony concluded with the official signing of handover documents between the outgoing and incoming leadership, witnessed by senior provincial officials.
