New Chairman Appointed to Xieng Khouang Provincial Governance Committee

(KPL) An official ceremony was held on December 29, 2025, at the Xieng Khouang Provincial Administration Office to announce the appointment of a new Chairman of the Provincial Governance Committee.

The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, a member of the Party Central Committee Political Bureau. Also present were Xieng Khouang Provincial Party Secretary and Governor Bounchan Sivongphan, along with senior provincial officials and representatives from relevant sectors.

During the event, Mr. Bounchan Sivongphan reported on achievements made during his tenure as governor. Ms. Chanthasone Phounsouk, Head of the Provincial Organizing Committee, then read the official decree appointing Mr. Bouangeun Houmxaiyaphom, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, as Chairman of the Xieng Khouang Provincial Governance Committee.

A formal handover ceremony followed between the outgoing governor and the newly appointed chairman.

In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo praised the provincial leadership and people for their contributions to development. He urged the new leadership to maintain Party unity and social stability, ensure national defense and public security, and create conditions for people to pursue their livelihoods.

He also called for stronger economic self-reliance through effective mineral resource management, expansion of commercial production, and implementation of the Three Builds (3-Sang) policy, with emphasis on grassroots development and poverty reduction.

Following the ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation visited agricultural production sites in Vieng Village to encourage vegetable farming. They also inspected iron ore mining and processing projects in Mee Khoun and Mon Kham villages, Paek District.

The visit concluded with the handover of winter clothing donations to provincial authorities for distribution to families in need during the cold season.
