(KPL) Medical experts from Military Region 4 of the People’s Army of Vietnam have provided free health check-ups and medical services to government officials and residents of Quan District, Huaphanh Province, as part of a humanitarian outreach programme.
The initiative took place on 22 December and was led by Mr Nguyen Huu Phai, Head of the Construction and International Relations Department of the COACO Economic Cooperation Company, under Military Region 4.
Medical support for remote communities
During the visit, the Vietnamese military medical team delivered a range of essential healthcare services, including general medical examinations, basic health screenings and the free distribution of medicines. The doctors also offered health consultations, advising residents on personal hygiene, disease prevention and long-term healthcare practices.
Local authorities said the programme was particularly valuable for people living in remote and border areas of Huaphanh Province, where access to modern healthcare services remains limited.
Symbol of Laos–Vietnam friendship
District leaders and residents warmly welcomed the medical team, describing the initiative as both a practical contribution to public health and a symbol of the long-standing friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam.
By focusing on border communities in Huaphanh Province, the activity highlighted the shared commitment of the two countries to improving living conditions and strengthening people-to-people ties.
On behalf of civil servants and residents, Quan District authorities expressed their sincere appreciation to the Vietnamese side and voiced their hope for continued cooperation on similar initiatives in the future, aimed at improving health and quality of life on both sides of the border.
