(KPL) The Lao prime minister has met the head of Vietnam’s Supreme People’s Procuracy during an official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
On 19 December 2025 in Vientiane, Sonexay Siphandone welcomed Nguyen Huy Tien, who is on a working visit to Laos from 17–19 December.
Mr Sonexay said the visit would help deepen the long-standing friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. He highlighted closer ties between the two countries’ people’s procuracies as an important contribution to their broader strategic partnership, and wished the Vietnamese delegation continued success and a safe return home.
Mr Nguyen Huy Tien thanked the prime minister for the reception and briefed him on past cooperation and future plans between the two procuracies. These include implementing existing memoranda of understanding, hosting the eighth conference of border provincial procuracies in Laos in 2026, expanding training for Lao prosecutors in Vietnam, and strengthening cooperation on combating transnational crime and developing digital and modernised procuracy systems.
