Champasak Delegation Meets Head of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics

KPL - Asean 2024 Mr Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Executive Committee, together with provincial leaders, met on 3 December with Mr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, during his official visit to Champasak Province.

 

(KPL) Mr Alounxay Sounnalath, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Executive Committee, together with provincial leaders, met on 3 December with Mr Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Head of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, during his official visit to Champasak Province.

The discussions focused on the long-standing solidarity and cooperation between Laos and Vietnam. Mr Alounxay outlined Champasak’s geographic strengths, socio-economic development and future potential, particularly in modernised agriculture, tourism, and transport and logistics.

Mr Nguyen Xuan Thang praised the leadership of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee for progress achieved across key sectors. He said the visit provided an opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of the province’s development efforts and to reaffirm the strong ties between the two countries, especially with Champasak Province.

He expressed Vietnam’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in tourism development, agricultural production for export, infrastructure construction, cross-border trade, enterprise support and the promotion of Champasak’s unique products to strengthen tourism.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, underscoring the enduring friendship and special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam.
