KPL - Asean 2024 Swedish team has secured first place at the 6th Liuyang International Fireworks in Hunan, China with Japanese and Hungarian teams announced as the first and second runners up, respectively.

The 6th Liuyang International Fireworks Festival was held on October 25 in Hunan, China.

The competition featured top-tier fireworks teams from the United States, Japan, Hungary, Belgium, Sweden, and Slovenia, who showcased their pinnacle pyrotechnic creativity and skill.

The Swedish team simulated the aurora effect with fireworks, showcasing the dynamic aesthetics of the transition between day and night.

The Japanese team, closing the show with the theme "The Fang of Light: A Beacon of Hope," told a compelling story of igniting fireworks to dispel darkness.

The Hungarian team centered their creation around "The Silk Road," blending classic shell fireworks with modern Roman candles and single shots to take the audience on a musical and cultural journey spanning two nations.

First runner-up (Japan team)

China is the birthplace of fireworks and the world's largest producer and exporter, and China's pyrotechnic products are beloved globally.

Official statistics show that Liuyang's fireworks industry achieved an annual output value exceeding RMB 50 billion in 2024, accounting for 70% of China's total fireworks exports. Local companies executed over 1,800 fireworks displays both domestically and internationally.

In recent years, Liuyang's fireworks professionals have pioneered modernized forms of expression by integrating drones and multimedia art into their displays. This innovation has produced stunning performances such as "Sky Gate" and "Heart of the Earth", pushing the boundaries of pyrotechnic artistry.

Second runner-up (Hungary team)

The fireworks gala was one of the main events of the ongoing 17th Liuyang International Fireworks Festival, as the 'Oscars' and 'World Cup' of the global fireworks industry, this year's Liuyang Fireworks Festival finalized six elite participating teams through a global call for entries and selection process.

The judging panel for this year's festival, besides five professional fireworks industry experts, also included artists, a top-tier stage designer, music producers, and internet influencers. They provided comprehensive scores based on various perspectives, including technical proficiency, artistic merit, and communication effectiveness.
