Heavy Rain, Flooding, and Landslide Warning

(KPL) The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology has issued a warning on July 4, 2025, for widespread rainfall due to a low-pressure trough currently moving across the northern and central regions of Laos. This weather system is intensified by prevailing southwesterly monsoonal winds, which are expected to bring light to moderate rain in most areas, with heavy rain occurring in some localities.
As a result, the public and local authorities are advised to remain vigilant, particularly those living near rivers and in low-lying or mountainous areas. Prolonged and heavy rainfall over several days may lead to landslides, flash floods, and river flooding, posing serious threats to life and property.
People who are planning to travel through mountainous areas are strongly encouraged to check the latest weather forecasts, road conditions, and ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before departing.
The Department urges the public to follow weather updates regularly through official announcements from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, in order to stay informed and prepared for any changes in weather conditions.
Please take all necessary precautions to stay safe during this period of unstable weather.
