(KPL) The Top 5 Lao Young Designers 2025 were officially unveiled during a special ceremony held on June 4 at the Amari Vientiane. The event celebrated the rise of emerging talent within Laos’ growing fashion industry and underscored the country’s vibrant creative future. This year, the Lao Young Designers Project 2025 is held under the theme “Fashion Design Contest: Lao Textiles to Fashion.”

The five finalists selected are Ms. Lamphai Phomsouvan, Mr. Khanxay Theampoukham, Mr. Anousak Xayasone, Mr. Souknilun Singhalath and Mr. Sirixay Soukhaphonh.

The finalists were chosen by a distinguished panel of judges representing both local and international fashion communities. The panel included Ms. Siv-Leng Chhuor, French Ambassador to Laos; Ms. Pany Saignavongs, Founder and CEO of Lao Fashion Week and the Lao Young Designers Project; and Mr. Kim Hyung Ryul, Executive Director of DSA-KLAO. They were joined by leading fashion experts and educators such as Eaggamon Attagamon and Pitnapat Yotinrattanachai from Thailand, Reynier Abello from Cambodia, and renowned Lao designers Manothip Siripaphan (Naree) and Bandid Lasavong (Men Folder).

Each of the Top 5 designers will receive funding to develop their collections, which will be showcased on the main stage at Lao Fashion Week 2025 in September. A final round of judging during the event will determine the Top Winner and Runners-up.

In addition, DSA-KLAO has awarded the finalists Access Passes to its professional fashion workspace in Vientiane, providing them with resources and facilities to prepare for the final showcase.

The Lao Young Designers Project continues to serve as a vital platform for nurturing the next generation of Lao fashion designers—offering exposure, mentorship, and access to regional fashion networks.
