Inner Mongolia Named First Destination for 2025 Study Tour-Exchange Program

(KPL) Inner Mongolia has been selected as the first destination for the 2025 “Travelogue of China” International Media Communication Activity—an overseas visit organized under the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) for foreign journalists from the Asia-Pacific region. The visit is part of the 2025 Study Tour and Exchange Program, hosted by the China Public Diplomacy Association in cooperation with Global Times Online.
The tour took place from May 12 to 16 and began with an official opening ceremony attended by Mr. Wu Hailong, President of the China Public Diplomacy Association; Mr. Shan Chengbiao, General Manager of Global Times Online; and Ms. Li Peiyan, Director of the Cyberspace Administration of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The event also featured a vibrant folk music performance by a youth ensemble from Inner Mongolia.
One of the highlights of the visit was a tour of the Yili Modern Intelligent Health Valley, located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia. The visiting journalists expressed strong interest in the project's innovative architecture, advanced facilities, and comprehensive approach to dairy production, particularly the variety of milk-based products with an emphasis on quality and nutrition. Project representatives highlighted an ambitious goal—to develop infant milk formula with nutritional value nearly identical to that of human breast milk.
The Yili Modern Intelligent Health Valley is one of the flagship projects under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan. Spanning a core development area of 38 square kilometers and a total planned area of 120 square kilometers, the project aims to create a digitally driven "smart city" that links industry and urban development through sustainable innovation. Branded as a "Dairy Silicon Valley," the valley is envisioned as a model of modern, eco-friendly dairy industry integration.
As one of the top five dairy enterprises in the world and the largest in Asia, Yili Group provides visitors a first-hand look at the future of dairy production and the broader impact of China's "Dairy Industry Revitalization" initiative. The project is expected to yield significant ecological, economic, and social benefits. By 2035, it aims to support over 350,000 employment opportunities and generate approximately 140,000 new jobs.
This international media tour not only showcased China’s advanced dairy industry and sustainable development goals but also strengthened cultural exchange and understanding among Asia-Pacific journalists visiting Inner Mongolia for the first time.
