(KPL) A new direct air route connecting Luang Prabang province in northern Laos to Kunming in southwest China has been officially launched, marking a significant step in improving connectivity and strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
The launch ceremony, held on April 1 at Luang Prabang International Airport, was attended by Bounleum Manivong, Deputy Governor of Luang Prabang province, alongside other dignitaries.
The new air route is expected to boost economic, trade, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Laos and China. It provides Chinese tourists with the opportunity to explore Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
The flights will operate three times a week, with a short 1.5-hour journey linking the two cities.
