PM Sonexay Receives Cambodian Trade Minister

KPL - Asean 2024 Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received a courtesy call from Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul, who was in Laos for the 2nd Meeting of the Laos-Cambodia Joint Trade Committee.


(KPL) Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone received a courtesy call from Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul, who was in Laos for the 2nd Meeting of the Laos-Cambodia Joint Trade Committee.

Welcoming the delegation, PM Sonexay highlighted the significance of the meeting, which aligns with agreements reached by the leaders of both nations, particularly those signed during his visit to Cambodia in December 2024.

He emphasized that Cham Nimul’s visit contributes to strengthening the long-standing ties, traditional solidarity, and comprehensive strategic partnership between Laos and Cambodia, particularly in trade and economic cooperation.

PM Sonexay commended Cambodia’s achievements in recent years and reaffirmed Laos' commitment to deepening bilateral relations through regular high-level exchanges.

He also stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation in economy, trade, connectivity, transport, and cross-border trade, alongside political collaboration.

PM Sonexay encouraged Cambodian businesses to invest in Laos, especially in areas where Laos is competitive, and asked Cham Nimul to convey his greetings to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

Cham Nimul briefed PM Sonexay on the outcomes of her discussions with Lao counterparts and reaffirmed Cambodia’s commitment to strengthening trade ties with Laos, aiming to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
