Vice President Bounthong Chitmany Visits Mok District

KPL - Asean 2024 Mr. Bounthong Chitmany, Politburo Member and Vice President visited Mok District, Xiang Khuang Province, on December 21, 2024. Vice President Bounthong Chitmany was welcomed by Mr. Bounchan Sivongphan, Party Secretary and Governor of Xiang Khuang Province, and local leaders.

(KPL) Mr. Bounthong Chitmany, Politburo Member and Vice President visited Mok District, Xiang Khuang Province, on December 21, 2024.

Vice President Bounthong Chitmany was welcomed by Mr. Bounchan Sivongphan, Party Secretary and Governor of Xiang Khuang Province, and local leaders.

Mok district consists of 28 villages, with 2,590 households and a total population of 16,430 (7,947 women).

The district's revenue reached 239.59 billion kip, with an economic growth rate of 5.25%, slightly below the target by 0.25%. The annual income per capita is 14,071,181 kip, achieving 98.65% of the annual plan.

During discussions with district leaders, Vice President Bounthong Chitmany commended the district for its achievements in socio-economic development.

He underscored the importance of reassessing village strengths to ensure development plans align with local potential and characteristics.

The Vice President urged local leaders to prioritize infrastructure development, road construction, and the integration of modern machinery into production.

He highlighted the need to establish cooperatives, promote large-scale crop production and animal husbandry, and expand educational access for children. Addressing persistent bottlenecks was also emphasized as a key focus.

As part of his visit, the Vice President toured the Office of the Khangvieng Development Cluster, inspected ongoing projects, and delivered relief items to the district and the Khangvieng cluster hospital. The aid included 200 blankets, 200 winter jackets, 50 mats, and monetary support.
