(KPL/VNA) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has appointed former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra as an informal adviser to assist with the country’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2025.
(KPL/VNA) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has appointed former Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra as an informal adviser to assist with the country’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2025.
During a December 16 joint press conference with his visiting Thai counterpart Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Anwar said the appointment was proposed by Malaysia and agreed upon by Thailand.
He expressed confidence that Thaksin’s experience would provide valuable insight for Malaysia.
Malaysia’s chairmanship starting January 1 next year features the theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, which reflects the nation’s aspirations for fostering a unified and prosperous bloc.
