Cambodia celebrates 20th anniversary of King Sihamoni’s coronation
(KPL/VNA) The 20th anniversary of King Norodom Sihamoni’s coronation was celebrated with a grand ceremony in Phnom Penh on October 30, with over 10,000 people taking part.
In his speech, the King called on all Cambodians to unite under the Constitution and the law to safeguard and develop the country across all sectors.
The ceremony was a part of three days of celebrations that began with religious ceremonies and blessing rituals held at the Royal Palace on October 28-29, complemented by exhibitions showcasing the activities and achievements of King Sihamoni over his two decades of reign.
The day of King Sihamoni's coronation, October 29, has been designated as a public holiday. The celebrations also included three nights of dazzling fireworks displays near the Royal Palace from October 28-30, and extended to various provinces where visits were made to patients, orphans, the disabled, and the elderly.
