KPL - Asean 2024 The National Committee on the Amendment of the 2015 Constitution convened its plenary meeting in Vientiane on August 23 to review its progress and outline plans for the remainder of 2024.

(KPL) The National Committee on the Amendment of the 2015 Constitution convened its plenary meeting in Vientiane on August 23 to review its progress and outline plans for the remainder of 2024. 

The session was chaired by Mr. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Committee on the Amendment of the 2015 Constitution, and attended by committee members and representatives from relevant sectors.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Phomvihane highlighted that the meeting would address key issues arising from evaluations of the 2015 constitutional amendments. Discussions were anticipated to focus on initial feedback from participants, with a view to incorporating broad and detailed suggestions for further enhancing the constitution.

“The participants will debate draft amendments to the 2015 Constitution, ensuring that public opinions on its implementation are thoroughly and diversely considered. Our goal is to summarize these discussions and evaluations into an accurate and comprehensive report, paving the way for the endorsement and future implementation of the revised constitution,” Mr. Phomvihane stated.
