General Secretary Urges Champasak to Unlock Growth Potential and Strengthen Development

Speaking during a meeting with provincial leaders on June 10 as part of his working visit to Champasak Province, the General Secretary emphasized that the Provincial Party Committee and Administration Organization should continue to explore the province’s comparative advantages and develop practical measures to transform those strengths into sustainable socio-economic progress.
He stressed the importance of strengthening leadership at all levels, enhancing the exemplary role of Party members and civil servants, and building public confidence through effective governance and tangible development outcomes. He urged provincial authorities to focus on addressing long-standing challenges and improving living standards for the province’s multi-ethnic population.
The General Secretary also called for maintaining unity within the provincial leadership, strengthening national defense and public security, and ensuring political stability and social order. He emphasized the need to build strong and effective subdistrict-level organizations capable of implementing Party and State policies efficiently.
In addition, he encouraged authorities and citizens to work together in combating social problems, including drug abuse, traffic accidents, online fraud, and other criminal activities, while promoting public awareness and participation in national development efforts.
Thongloun further highlighted the importance of expanding international cooperation and attracting greater foreign investment to support economic development, create employment opportunities, and sustain long-term growth in Champasak Province.
