Minister of Agriculture and Environment Welcomes New Thai Ambassador to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

(KPL) Linkham Douangsavanh, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, received a courtesy call from Krongkanit Rakcharoen, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Lao PDR, along with delegations from both sides.
During the meeting, the Minister congratulated Ambassador Rakcharoen on her appointment and expressed appreciation for the continued strong relations between the two countries. Both sides reviewed the history of bilateral cooperation, with particular emphasis on the Memorandum of Understanding on agriculture, natural resources and environmental cooperation.
The Minister noted that 2026 marks a significant milestone in Lao–Thai relations, highlighted by the recent visit of Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida to the Lao PDR. During the visit, Their Majesties toured the Huay Son-Huay Sua Agriculture Development and Service Center, a landmark symbolizing longstanding agricultural cooperation between Laos and Thailand.
Minister Linkham reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation in several key areas. These include promoting sustainable agriculture, enhancing food security, increasing commercial agricultural production, protecting natural resources and the environment, and expanding technical cooperation and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
He also emphasized the importance of joint efforts in disaster management, particularly in preventing and addressing forest fires and other environmental challenges.
The Minister expressed confidence that continued collaboration will further strengthen bilateral ties and contribute to sustainable development and environmental resilience in both countries.
