Jakarta, 30 April 2025 (KPL)  Mr. Sitsangkhom Sisaket presented his credentials to ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, officially assuming his role as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR and Permanent Representative to ASEAN. 

Dr. Kao Kim Hourn warmly welcomed Mr. Sitsangkhom, extending his best wishes to Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith. He expressed confidence that the new ambassador would actively contribute to the Committee of Permanent Representatives and advance the ASEAN Community’s goals. 

Ambassador Sitsangkhom thanked the Secretary-General for the reception and conveyed President Thongloun’s greetings. He acknowledged the ASEAN Secretariat’s support during Laos’ successful 2024 ASEAN Chairmanship and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to regional priorities. 

The ambassador pledged close collaboration with ASEAN member states to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, ensuring tangible benefits for the region’s people. He also called for continued support from the ASEAN Secretariat in achieving these objectives.
