(KPL) The festival is an important part of Lao religious and cultural traditions under Heet 12 Khong 14. Devotees visit temples to offer food to monks, make merit, chant prayers and observe the Five Precepts.
Traditional celebrations may include candlelight processions, lantern displays and illuminated fireboats along designated riverbanks. Many communities also clean temple grounds and public spaces as part of the occasion.
Boun Ork Phansa brings families and communities together to preserve Laos’ Theravada Buddhist heritage and promote spiritual reflection, generosity and unity.
