The donations were handed over on August 21, 2026, and received on behalf of the Government by Mr. Phoxay Xayyasone, Minister of Labour and Social Welfare and Vice Chairman and Standing Member of the Central Disaster Management Committee. Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and representatives of relevant agencies attended the ceremony.
Chaleun Sekong Energy Co., Ltd., Agricultural Promotion Bank and Viet-Lao Power Investment and Development Joint Stock Company each contributed LAK 5 billion, while Sokxay Group Co., Ltd. donated LAK 4 billion.
Prime Minister Sonexay expressed appreciation for the companies’ continued support, saying the contributions come at a critical time and reflect the private sector’s commitment to helping affected communities recover.
He stressed that the donated funds must be managed transparently, appropriately and effectively, ensuring assistance reaches people genuinely affected by natural disasters.
