(KPL/Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported on Jan 31 the existence of 50 confirmed active cases of Covid-19, which include nine registered this Monday.
According to the daily report, at the end of January 30, 83 patients were admitted, 33 suspected and 50 confirmed active.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, the country has accumulated 14,298,802 samples taken, of which 1,112,438 have been positive.
Of the total number of new infected, four were contacts of confirmed cases, two with a source of infection abroad and three without specifying.
Four of those diagnosed belong to the age group of under 20 years, three from 40 to 59 years, and two from 60 and over.
To date, the number of deaths from causes related to the disease totals 8,530 (none yesterday), for a lethality of 0.77 percent compared to 1.0 percent in the world and 1.54 in the Americas.
The health authorities report a confirmed critical patient in intensive care.
